Ayrshire boasts over 40 courses including some of the best links golf courses in the world, including Open Championship venues Turnberry and Royal Troon and the birthplace of the Open: Prestwick Golf Club. Other courses include Kilmarnock Barassie, Glasgow Gailes, Western Gailes and Irvine Bogside, all of which are used as qualifying courses for entry to the Open.
